Hello from OmniCom!

The OmniCom team bring a wealth of experience across IT, systems, networking, audio visual equipment and telephony. We are constantly learning and like to keep each other on our toes! Find out more about our team and their key skills below!

Paul Tomlinson

Paul Tomlinson

Founder and Managing Director

Paul has obviously been with OmniCom since its inception. Even before joining OmniCom he already had over 25 years of IT experience with some of the UK’s largest blue chip companies including Unilever, Marconi, ICI and BP Oil.

Paul is married to Julie and has lived in Durham for the past 15 years. With 3 older children now left home his spare time is spent between fighting off relegation at Sunderland football club and Max the dog. Paul and Julie met while working at Marconi programing heavyweight torpedoes in the 1980s.

Julie Tomlinson

Julie Tomlinson

Purchasing Manager

The southerner of OmniCom, Julie was born in Cambridge and has slowly edged further North ever since. Her background was as a legal secretary for Rio-Tinto Zinc and subsequently Barclays Bank but she entered the cut-throat world of purchasing when she joined OmniCom at its inception. Julie now sources all equipment for OmniCom’s many and varied projects.

A mother of 3 grown up children Julie now leads a life of leisure in leafy Houghall in Durham. Her ample leisure time is spent walking her dog Max and renovating her family home.

Chris Jobson

Chris Jobson

TechShare Technician

Chris is the latest addition to our TechShare team having joined in 2013. Chris’ IT career has been predominately spent in a support role so he’s naturally at home looking after 20 of our Complete School Support schools stretched across the North East.

At 6 foot 7 inches tall Chris is the best value pounds per inch engineer we currently have allowing him to make light work of data projector filter cleaning without the aid of ladders. Even after just a few months in the role Chris has already built up a loyal following of schools who look to him for advice and guidance.

Away from work Chris has 3 passions, cars cars and cars. Like his partner in crime Wes he repairs, builds and races all types of cars and vans.

Adam Starkie

Adam Starkie

TechShare Technician

Adam has only been with OmniCom since 2012 when he joined as part of our TechShare team covering schools across the North-East. He has worked in IT since 1999 so brings with him a wealth of IT experience. Adam specialises in ICT support and works in the TechShare team servicing almost 20 of his schools across the North-East.

Away from work Adam enjoys a wide variety of sports and watches Newcastle Vipers ice hockey team whenever he can. He’s a County Durham lad and enjoys travelling; Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, you name it – he’s been there. In 2012 Adam was voted OmniCom’s ‘nicest smelling technician’, a title he hopes to defend over the coming years.

Wes Bryne

Wes Bryne

TechShare Technician

Wes is the grand old man of the TechShare team having joined OmniCom in 2006. With an IT pedigree going back to 1997 Wes brings an enormous amount of experience to his role. Wes specialises in ICT support and works in the TechShare team servicing almost 20 of his schools across the North-East.

Wes’s passion away from work can be summed up in one word, Cars. He buys them, he repairs them, he races them and you’ll rarely see him in the same car twice. When he’s not driving cars he’s watching other people driving them whilst visiting track days and rallies all over the UK. Wes has competed in the Barcelona Banger race (from the UK to Spain) on many occasions and lived to tell the tale.

Thomas Shek

Thomas Shek

TechShare Technician

Thomas joined our TechShare team in the summer of 2015. Thomas has worked in IT Support for all of his career to date with a number of years previously spent supporting a Primary School in Sunderland. He brings over 10 years of IT experience to 20 schools in an area from Sunderland to Hexham.

Away from the world of IT, Thomas’ passion is food – or more accurately the cooking of it rather than the eating of it. Thomas manages to fit in his love for world cuisine alongside the demands of his young family.

Thomas’ other claim to fame is his electric car in which he can be found whizing along the highways and byways of the North East, servicing his TechShare customers. Well, that’s not strictly true as a lot of his schools are outside the range of his eco-car, and he often has to resort to good old polluting petrol to get to them!

Shaun Wills

Shaun Wills

Senior Installation Engineer

Shaun hails from Spennymoor and has been with us since 2008. His previous background was within the security industry fitting burglar alarms, CCTV, Access Systems and fire alarms. This previous employment has made him ideally suited to the installation of networking and audio visual systems, where his trademark baseball cap makes him instantly recognisable.

All of Shaun’s interests outside of work (ICT, cars, RC model cars/ helicopters) are on hold due to his marriage to Danielle in 2012 and the arrival of Flynn his gorgeous baby boy. In his spare time Shaun likes nothing better than sitting and playing on his PlayStation and watching movies on the sofa.

Mark Duffy

Mark Duffy

Technician

Mark has been with OmniCom since 2010 when he joined our expanding TechShare team. He actually came from an identical background where he had been performing ICT support on behalf of a number of Durham schools for the previous 5 years. Mark specialises in ICT Support and has recently given up his TechShare status for a new challenge in our office bringing his tea making skills with him.

Away from work Mark just loves IT, he lives, breaths and sleeps IT and fixes IT problems for fun. He’s another of OmniCom’s County Durham band but now lives in Sunderland.

Kylie Myers

Kylie Myers

Account Manager

Kylie has always been the baby of OmniCom having joined when she was only 16 (back in 2006). As the longest serving member of the team Kylie handles all aspects of Admin and provides a firm grip on the technical team, guiding and cajoling them through their work.

Away from OmniCom most of Kylie’s time is spent looking after her son Harvey. In the spare time she does have, Kylie is a bit of a bingo fanatic and can be seen dabber in hand across seedy bingo halls across the North-East. Kylie recently climbed Skiddaw in the Lake District in aid of Cancer Research and should have completely recovered in the months and years to come.

Chris Teesdale

Chris Teesdale

Senior Systems Engineer

Chris has been with OmniCom since 2008 and lives in Newton Aycliffe. He had worked in the IT industry since finishing College. He has experience of working in the Private sector and the public sector. He previously worked for the Ministry of Defence in the Civil Service doing ICT Support for the Royal Air Force. He specialises in Windows & Linux Server systems and network security.

Chris’ interests outside of work consist of online PC gaming (Team Fortress 2 & Counter-Strike) as well as his Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo sports car.

Dave McGuigan

Dave McGuigan

Service Delivery Manager

Dave only joined OmniCom in 2014 but immediately made a big impact. He was brought in to specifically improve our Support and Maintenance provision and his 15 years of IT experience has helped him achieve that in double quick time. Dave has previously worked in a diverse range of IT roles including local authorities and another local IT support company.

Dave lives way out West in Consett with his partner Laura and their cat. Away from IT Dave is something of an old rocker whether he’s traipsing around the North-East attending gigs or making his annual trip to Glastonbury for his week long drink fueled pilgrimage. His major contribution to OmniCom appears to be changing our radio listening habits from Metro Radio to Smooth FM.

Ben Robinson

Ben Robinson

Junior Technician

Ben is truly the baby of OmniCom having joined in July 2014 at the tender age of 17 straight from New College in Durham. Ben originally came to us as an Apprentice through Baltic Training which has helped him gain a firm foundation for a long and successful career at Omnicom.

Ben is the second member of our Consett Crew and when he’s not slaving over a hot keyboard he enjoys walking his dog around the area. Like any good geek Ben enjoys gaming and working on PCs in his spare time.

Max

Max

Resident Dogsbody

Max comes into the OmniCom offices for at least 2 days each week. He spends most of his working day asleep by the front door but when awake his main duties are delivering mail and collecting prints from any printer (whether you want him to or not). The end result is prompt delivery of mail and prints albeit in a slightly soggy state.

Max is now 6 years old and is very much part of the OmniCom family. Max has his own “Ask Max” column in OmniCom’s regular newsletter that has produced a (very) small but loyal following across the North-East.
